Gender Identity and Expression Training

Hockey Eastern Ontario, Hockey Northwestern Ontario and the Ontario Hockey Federation are pleased to announce the launch of a refreshed training program for team officials to create inclusive hockey experiences for transgender and gender diverse participants.

The refreshed course will provide team officials with education on Hockey Canada’s Gender Expression and Gender Identity Policy, discrimination based on gender identity and expression, the Ontario Dressing Room Policy, Confidentiality Statement and supporting documents, such as the Dressing Room Policy Implementation Guide.

The training will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Team officials who have taken the previous version of this training are not required to take the refreshed program.

All team officials will require a Spordle account in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) in order to register for and complete the two modules. Once completed, a notification will be posted to the team official’s member profile on the HCR. To register for this training, click the link below. If the clinic does not populate automatically, select HEO at the top of the screen beside find your clinic, and you will see the HEO Gender Identity and Expression course listed.

After you have completed registration, the link to begin the training can be found in the calendar tab within your own Spordle account. You will not receive a certificate upon completion. The completed training will, however, show up in your qualifications tab within your HCR profile.
