HEO Hosting FREE Goalie Development and Player Skills Sessions During Seaway Shootout

It is a big weekend of hockey in the city of Cornwall October 16th and 17th as the city plays host to the Seaway Shootout, a special two-game event bringing major junior hockey back to the city of Cornwall.
Part of the weekend will see the Brampton Steelheads playing regular season games against two Eastern Conference opponents in the Ottawa 67’s on Friday, October 16 and the Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
Seaway Shootout Event Schedule
The weekend will feature a variety of community and hockey events leading up to and surrounding the OHL matchups:
- Friday, October 16, 2026: Free Public Open Skate – 4:00pm to 5:00pm
- Friday, October 16, 2026: Brampton Steelheads vs. Ottawa 67’s, 7:00pm (Civic Complex)
- Saturday, October 17, 2026: HEO Free Goalie Development and Player Skills Sessions (Benson Centre)
- Saturday, October 17, 2026: Seaway Valley Rapids Hockey Day (Benson Centre)
- Saturday, October 17, 2026: HEO AAA Hockey Showcase - Showcase Games: 11 AM • 1 PM • 3 PM (Civic Complex)
- Saturday, October 17, 2026: Brampton Steelheads vs. Kingston Frontenacs, 7:00pm (Civic Complex)
HEO Free Goalie Development and Player Skills Sessions
Hockey Eastern Ontario will be running FREE goalie development and player skills sessions for its members in collaboration with the OHL Seaway Shootout. The sessions will be held October 17th at the Benson Centre in Cornwall.
GOALIE DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS
Each goalie session will have 3 Hockey Canada certified goalie coaches on the ice and a maximum of 20 goalies.
There will be four one hour sessions:
U9 Goalies 8:00am - 9:00am
U11 Goalies 9:00am - 10:00am
U13 Goalies 10:00am - 11:00am
U15 Goalies 11:00am - 12:00pm
*Goalie must be a registered HEO member for insurance purposes.

PLAYER SKILLS SESSIONS
Each player skills session will have 2 Hockey Canada certified skills coaches on the ice and a maximum of 30 players.
There will be four one hour sessions:
U9 Skaters 12:00pm - 1:00pm *FULL*
U11 Skaters 1:00pm - 2:00pm
U13 Skaters 2:00pm - 3:00pm
U15 Skaters 3:00pm - 4:00pm
*Player must be a registered HEO member for insurance purposes.
